Renee Perry-Portee, LCPC is a therapist at Relief Mental Health in Orland Park, Ill. Through an inclusive approach, Renee offers in-person and virtual therapy to individuals ages 14 and older. With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Renee brings a wealth of knowledge and an empathetic ethos to her clinical work, specializing in providing psychotherapy for a diverse range of individuals. 

Renee is skilled in addressing a broad spectrum of mental health diagnoses and concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, family conflict, racial identity, women’s issues and more. She possesses a unique understanding of the specific needs of various groups, including the Black community, those of Christian faith, and single mothers, among others.

Renee’s evidence-based treatment modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered care, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Each individual is treated as unique, and she tailors her therapy modalities to what best suits their needs. 

Renee earned a Master of Science in counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in education from National Louis University in Wheaton, Ill. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her devotion to her community extends to volunteering with youth programs, dance teams, and AKA sister relations. . 

As an integrated member of the Relief clinician team, Renee collaborates closely with our other providers. This ensures that patients have access to a range of treatment options, including cutting-edge therapies like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), SPRAVATO® (esketamine), IV ketamine, or traditional medication management, should they be needed.
