Michael Henderson, APNP, PMHNP

Michael Henderson is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Relief Mental Health in West Allis, Wis., specializing in medication management for adults (18+) experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, and other mental health diagnoses. Through thoughtful evaluation, prescribing, and ongoing monitoring, Michael develops safe, personalized medication plans to help each patient achieve meaningful relief and lasting wellness.

For adults facing treatment-resistant depression, Michael offers SPRAVATO® (esketamine)—the FDA-approved nasal spray form of ketamine that works differently than traditional antidepressants by targeting the brain in new ways, delivering rapid relief when other treatments haven’t been effective.

Michael is deeply committed to delivering comprehensive, empathetic care to diverse populations. He is skilled in diagnosing mental health conditions, prescribing appropriate medications, and providing supportive psychotherapy, always with a focus on promoting recovery, health, and prevention.

Prior to joining Relief Mental Health, Michael served veterans at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, where he developed treatment plans, managed complex medication needs, and empowered patients through education and supportive care—an experience that strengthened his dedication to serving those who need it most.

Michael holds a Master of Science in nursing from Marquette University in Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He works closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient has access to the right care, including internal referrals for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or therapy when needed.
