Alexandra “Lexi” Bunjan, LSW
Alexandra “Lexi” Bunjan, LSW, is a therapist at Relief Mental Health in Rockford, Illinois, providing therapy for adults and elders. She specializes in mental health crisis management, seniors and geriatric care, trauma, PTSD, and other diagnoses. She brings a background in emergency and medical social work to support patients through some of their most difficult moments.
Lexi believes in providing holistic care that considers both a patient’s mental and physical health, ensuring every person is seen as a whole individual rather than a diagnosis. She values working with patients who are ready to take that first step toward getting help, even when the process feels difficult, and partners with them to build on their strengths and navigate challenges with empathy and evidence-based care.
Lexi believes her role extends beyond providing support to helping patients connect with the resources they need to thrive. She works collaboratively with her patients, empowering them to be active participants in their own care so they feel heard, informed, and at the center of every treatment decision. Her background in emergency and medical social work gives her a strong understanding of the challenges that come with chronic illness and navigating complex healthcare systems. She supported patients and families through crisis stabilization, medical trauma, and grief tied to chronic illness. She has extensive experience addressing suicidal and homicidal ideation, and she is committed to helping patients manage the emotional impact of medical conditions while building a treatment plan that addresses the whole person.
Lexi earned her Master of Social Work from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. She draws on a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and trauma-focused approaches, to tailor care to each patient’s needs. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Accredited Case Management Association, and she serves on a community board in Rockford.
