Daniel Lowder, PA-C, ATC

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – Orland Park, IL

Daniel Lowder, PA-C, ATC, is a psychiatric physician assistant at Relief Mental Health in Orland Park, Illinois. With nearly 15 years of experience in diverse medical settings, including orthopedics, clinical rehabilitation, athletic training, and psychiatric care, Daniel brings a wealth of expertise to his practice. He specializes in treating adolescents (14 and older) and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and more. As a certified athletic trainer, he also provides psychiatry support for individuals regarding sports performance anxiety and stressors.

Focusing on SPRAVATO® treatment and medication management, Daniel provides comprehensive mental health care for individuals. SPRAVATO®, a nasal spray form of ketamine, offers a rapid-acting alternative for those who have not found relief with traditional antidepressants. It works by targeting the NMDA receptors in the brain, helping to restore synaptic connections and improve mood.

For individuals seeking conventional psychiatry services as a stand alone treatment approach or to complement other therapies, Daniel expertly assesses, prescribes and manages medication regimens to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes, tailoring treatments to each patient’s unique needs.

Daniel utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet each patient’s unique needs. These include motivational interviewing and psychological evaluation (for ADHD). He is particularly passionate about supporting individuals with ADHD and PTSD. His inclusive practice also extends to those aligned with body positivity, the LGBTQ+ community, and veterans, among others.

Daniel earned his Master of Medical Science in physician assistant studies from Dominican University and holds a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Aurora University, both in Illinois. At Relief Mental Health, he is committed to helping patients navigate their mental health journeys by providing access to additional services such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for depression, OCD and other diagnoses, and psychotherapy.

Daniel’s approach is patient-centered and holistic, ensuring that each individual receives the effective care they deserve.
