Angela Heuerman, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Angela Heuerman, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Relief Mental Health in Rockford, Ill. She provides psychiatric medication management for adults facing depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma/PTSD, and other mental health diagnoses.
Angela is also trained in providing SPRAVATO® (esketamine), an innovative FDA-approved nasal spray treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression or depression with suicidal thoughts or actions.
Bringing more than 12 years of experience as a registered nurse and nearly five years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Angela has worked in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. She takes a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to psychiatry, aiming to improve quality of life through personalized treatment.
Angela earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University in Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford. At Relief, she helps patients explore and access innovative treatment options to support their mental wellness journey. Angela is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.
When clinically appropriate, Angela connects patients with additional services at Relief, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or talk therapy, ensuring comprehensive care on their journey to wellness.
