CHICAGO, January 9, 2024—Relief Mental Health is proud to announce the addition of Bess Levin, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist, to its team of mental health providers.

Dr. Levin brings extensive experience and specialized expertise in adult mental health, concentrating on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and more.

Situated in Relief’s Chicago West Loop clinic, Dr. Levin is focused on delivering innovative treatments. Her practice incorporates advanced modalities like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO® (esketamine) to address treatment-resistant depression and other diagnoses. Additionally, she provides personalized medication management services for adult patients.

“Dr. Levin’s expertise in psychiatry significantly enhances our ability to provide comprehensive mental health care to the community,” says Susan Mueller, CEO of Relief Mental Health. “Her dedication to evidence-based and collaborative approaches aligns perfectly with our mission to offer personalized treatment. We are confident that her presence will positively impact the lives of many individuals seeking relief from their mental health diagnoses.”

Having completed her residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Levin underwent comprehensive training in pharmacologic management across a spectrum of conditions, spanning mood disorders, anxiety disorders, women’s mental health, substance use disorders, and psychotic disorders. Serving as a staff psychiatrist in a Chicago-area hospital further honed her clinical skills, reinforcing her commitment to holistic mental health care within an inpatient setting.

Guided by an evidence-based and collaborative philosophy, Dr. Levin customizes each patient’s treatment plan to suit their needs. She recognizes the unique trajectory of every mental health journey, whether individuals are seeking treatment for the first time or exploring alternative options after previous interventions have proven ineffective.

Relief opened its doors in the West Loop neighborhood in October 2022 to provide more options for care, particularly for people who haven’t experienced relief from traditional treatment methods. Dr. Levin joins a certified TMS technician, two psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and two psychotherapists in the clinic. Together, the team of providers are able to assist patients in accessing any of Relief’s various treatments as necessary.

Dr. Levin attained her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and achieved Magna Cum Laude status with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. An active member of the American Psychiatric Association, she remains engaged in her professional community.

Relief Mental Health looks forward to the positive impact Dr. Levin will have on the mental health and well-being of the Chicago community. For further information or to schedule an appointment, visit www.reliefmh.com, call 855-205-4764, or email info@reliefmh.com.
