Amanda Lantow, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a compassionate and highly skilled psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Relief Mental Health in Rockford, Ill. Specializing in anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, insomnia and more, Amanda is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the challenges that impact their mental health.
With a focus on medication management and providing SPRAVATO® for adults ages 18 and older, Amanda brings specialized insight and proficiency to her practice. She is adept at tailoring treatment plans to address the unique needs of each individual, minimizing side effects and maximizing the effectiveness of medications.
Amanda’s therapeutic approach is diverse, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and strength-based approaches, to name a few. She is welcoming and affirming to individuals of all sexual orientations, and possesses special insight into the experiences of Christianity and Catholicism, as well as the unique needs of Hispanic and Latino patients.
Amanda finds immense satisfaction in helping individuals who feel stuck in their journey toward mental well-being, particularly those grappling with anxiety and depression. Her goal is to guide them towards a path of self-discovery, increased self-esteem, and the ability to overcome obstacles hindering a satisfying life.
A believer in collaborative care, Amanda actively involves her patients in the decision-making process regarding their treatment. She values compassionate care, meeting individuals where they are, and patiently supporting them on their journey to well-being.
Amanda holds a Master of Science in nursing with a psychiatric focus from Walden University in Minnesota. Her educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lewis University in Illinois, laying the foundation for her comprehensive understanding of healthcare.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Amanda’s personal interests include nature, animals, spending time with her son, and travel. As a member of Sigma Theta Tau, she remains committed to excellence in nursing practice. Additionally, she volunteers her time for Lions Club Rose Day, demonstrating her dedication to community engagement and giving back.
Amanda is committed to empowering individuals to overcome mental health challenges and lead fulfilling lives. If she determines a patient needs differing forms of treatment, Amanda guides that individual into receiving our other services, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or psychotherapy.
